100% of bronchoscopes showed residual contamination after manual cleaning

The DMED Smart Endobox (SEB) 1000 and SEB 2000 automate pre-cleaning of flexible scopes, fixing the manual step that even the best Automated Endoscope Reprocessor (AER) can't compensate for.
The Problem
Every flexible scope is reprocessed through an AER you already trust. But before the scope ever reaches that AER, someone has to manually flush every channel with syringes and detergent.
The most expensive AER in your CSSD is only as good as the step before it.

The Solution
SEB runs pre-cleaning as a controlled, customizable cycle that adapts to your CSSD protocols. Whichever configuration your team picks, it runs identically every cycle, every scope, every operator. SEB sits next to your existing sink, or replaces it entirely with the SEB 2000's integrated counter. Your AER doesn't change. Your reprocessing chain just got a first stage that holds.
Before and throughout the cycle. Air is blown continuously. The machine confirms the scope is safe. If there is a leak, the machine beeps.
Every channel cleaned with controlled pulsing, per your internal protocol. Fully customisable.
Any enzymatic cleaning agent. Automatic dose, no measuring, expiry-date traceability (SEB 2000).
Operators, endoscopes, and chemical canisters all registered via barcode. Every cycle linked to who, what, and which.
Every cycle's data (phases, times, alarms, chemistry, operator) exports in audit-ready format.
On-board printer with long-term archival stability. Paper traceability where digital isn't enough.
Clinical impact
Improves pre-cleaning consistency to reduce residual bioburden — a known contributor to device-related infections and antibiotic prescribing.
Improves the reliability and traceability of reusable-scope pre-cleaning, supporting more consistent outcomes across reprocessing cycles.
Designed to improve infection control in post-transplant settings where patients are immunocompromised.
Each channel is flushed at 1200 ml per minute.
Business case
Procurement committees often see SEB as a cost. Here's how hospitals using it recover the investment.
Shorter reprocessing cycles mean scopes return to use faster. Hospitals can perform more procedures with existing scope inventory, reducing or delaying capital expenditure on additional units.
SEB 2000's automated cycle requires minimal operator monitoring. Skilled CSSD staff are freed for higher-value clinical tasks, improving staff productivity and reducing per-procedure labor cost.
Consistent, controlled flushing reduces wear on internal channels and components, potentially extending scope useful life and reducing repair frequency.
Reduced infection risk from improved reprocessing can mean shorter patient stays and faster bed turnover, supporting higher hospital throughput.
Faster turnaround and reduced bottlenecks let hospitals schedule more procedures per day with the same equipment, increasing revenue without additional capital investment.
Better utilization and longer service life from each scope improves the return on capital already invested in the hospital's endoscope inventory.
The pump
Most automated pre-cleaning systems route contaminated fluid through fixed internal plumbing. SEB's pump is external. The cleaning fluid only ever touches a single replaceable silicone tube — easily removable and cleanable.
